He serves as chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. During the 105th Congress, Pete chaired the Education at a Crossroads Project which examined what works and what is wasted in the American Education system. He also chaired the teamsters election investigation which examined the failed 1996 teamsters election.
