How Affordable Housing Gets Built (or doesn't) 
Please join us as Ryan Kilpatrick, Executive Director of Housing Next, will address the recent shift in market trends as it relates to housing and why affordable housing is so important to a strong regional economy. Ryan will highlight the steps that Housing Next is taking to partner with local communities and corporations to encourage a fiscally responsible method of creating market-based opportunities for more affordable housing in West Michigan. 


About Ryan Kilpatrick 
Ryan Kilpatrick is the Executive Director of Housing Next - a community organization designed to unlock market-based solutions to the affordable housing need in West Michigan. Ryan has a background in economic development, community design and public finance. Prior to leading Housing Next, Ryan worked for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation where is was the lead project manager in West Michigan. In that role, Ryan helped to close more than $250,000,000 worth of private investment across the region and negotiated the use of State tools to support nearly 50 projects during his 4 year tenure at the MEDC.
